guide to driving and camping in Romania

Danube Delta tour boat

Romania

The Danube Delta, is one of Europe’s most isolated and inaccessible regions and is one of Europe’s richest location for birds. The world’s largest reed-beds tuck in a tangled web of channels. Guided boat tours with knowledgeable bird experts make the exploration fascinating. The remarkable painted monasteries of Southern Bucovina are one of the finest examples of Byzantine art in Europe. The astonishing frescoes on the outside and inside walls still burst with color and vitality. Campgrounds are safe and are gradually being upgraded. Gates are closed in the evening and security persons are often on duty throughout the day and night. Outside the cities and larger towns traffic is light.
