Crystal-clear rivers and quiet lakes make Slovenia a paradise for kayakers and canoeists who come from all over Europe to paddle. Beginner through advanced runs, guides, rentals, and shuttles are available close to campgrounds. High peaks, rain forest-like mountain gorges, and tumultuous waterfalls challenge the hiker. Hundreds of kilometers of designated mountain-bike paths and secondary roads with little traffic treat cyclists. Bike rentals and route maps are readily available. Campgrounds are modern, grassy and scenic. Driving is pleasurable through such blissful countryside, and highways are excellent and well signposted.
