Turkey

Turkey is an over flowing treasure trove of ancient sites. Many are remote so travelers have an excellent chance of having some of them almost to themselves. Besides Turkey’s beautiful beaches, the carpet-like rolling steppes, fascinating cave churches and the exquisite mosques, the country overflows with warm and generous hospitality. With 5,500 kilometers of coastline along the Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmara and Black Seas, Turkey has plenty of seaside campgrounds that Europeans have enjoyed for years. The Turks love to camp and pleasant campgrounds in scenic locations are found close to almost all the tourist areas. Modern four-lane divided highways net the country all the way to eastern Turkey and from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. Signposting is excellent.
